WHY VEGETARIAN ISN'T A GOOD STEP

I created a post a few days ago that explained why vegetarian is not a good step to going Vegan. A few people commented saying:

“I was vegetarian before I was vegan so yes its a good step"

But Veganism is not a diet so it's irrelevant. There are only vegans and non-vegans/ animal exploiters and non-animal exploiters.

There is no grey area.

Veganism is the future.

All other humane washing "labels" are irrelevant to the animals. They don't give a sh*t about what people call themselves. And vegetarian still fully exploits and murders animals.

It's that simple.

Telling people that vegetarian is a good step is not working in the animals favour, in the slightest; it completes undermines the victims. If I were one of the animals being raped, having my baby stolen, being exploited, enslaved and tortured..

The ONLY option that would be acceptable to me is someone not exploit me at all.

I wouldn't give a shit about whether someone ate my dead body parts or not after my short life of being exploited, r8ped and used.

If as Vegans we people it's OK to exploit them as long as they are not eating them and that it's fine to take 'baby steps' is not right. I know some vegetarians who have been vegetarian for 30/40/50 years and literally refuse to change because they are 'doing enough'...

Even if you were vegetarian for X amount of years before you stopped exploiting animals full stop...

You were still missing the point that whole time and someone should have held you accountable from the start, so that you stopped exploiting animals straight away, rather than thinking it was fine to slowly but surely maybe eventually stop murdering and exploiting them

Going vegan isn't a "journey" so l don't agree that just taking their flesh out of the diet is a good step.

Because vegetarian still fully see animals as commodities. (Just like I did whilst I was 'plant based' for 5 years.) Someone should have held me accountable all those years back then. Vegans have a moral obligation to hold vegetarians accountable because they exploit animals. You either see other animals as objects or you don't.

There is no transition period needed. It's an overnight action.

One day you see animals as commodities the next day you don't and your actions should reflect that. Being vegetarian for a while, still exploiting and murdering animals for their skin, babies milk, eggs, entertainment, labour etc whilst you figure out not exploiting them at all, is still seeing them as commodities.

The more we tell people that vegetarian is a good step the longer it's going to take to liberate the animals and people are going to continue thinking that veganism is just a diet. We wouldn't say that it's a 'good step' for someone to rape his wife every day instead of beat her up every day. It completely misleads as to what veganism is and undermines the victims.

Vegetarian is a really toxic issue/ position because it gives many people a false ethical label to hide under whilst they can be comfortable with everyone thinking they are holy for not eating their flesh, whilst conveniently not pissing anyone off because they aren't too 'extreme. Yes a lot of vegetarians do not know that they are still exploiting, harming and murdering animals. But once they are told the truth, if they truly respect animals they would change IMMEDIATELY. If they don't change which is my experience more often than not, then why are they even vegetarian?

Vegetarians need to be held accountable just as much as any other non-vegan (and no this doesn't mean being "hostile or rude" which I have been accused of. It means holding them accountable for their actions which ALL non-vegans/ animal exploiters need to actually be able to change.

Telling people that not eaten their flesh is a "good step" is doing the exact opposite of holding them accountable.

The only people who are going to do that are true vegans (not plant based dieters), because if we aren't then no other non-vegan is going to. If you were one of the victims the ONLY good step that would be acceptable for you would be someone not using/ exploiting and torturing you at all, full stop.

Anything less than that is a welfare message not a vegan (total liberation) one.
